Scott A. Orth, Esq. (Of Counsel)

Scott A. Orth is the founder and principal of the Law Offices of Scott Alan Orth, P.A., a Hollywood-based law firm with twenty-five years experience and dedicated to the practice of bankruptcy and bankruptcy litigation, real estate, workout, foreclosure, IRS settlements, estate planning and commercial litigation. Mr. Orth received his B.S. in systems analysis from the University of Miami in 1981 and his J.D. from the University’s School of Law in 1984.

Mr. Orth has served as General Counsel to Mr. Marvin L. Warner, the former U.S. Ambassador to Switzerland and bank founder, as Debtor-in-possession and Post-Confirmation.  His practice has included an emphasis on litigation and insolvency, including SEC injunction, bankruptcy, usury, business and personal torts, contracts, liquidations, reorganization, taxation, appeals, commercial and residential real estate transactions, probate and general corporate business consulting.

Significant representation included Skylake Ins. Agency, Inc. v. NMB Plaza, LLC, Third District  Court of Appeal, Miami, Florida, 2009, wherein the Court validated a lease against North Miami Beach Plaza seeking damages for breach of contract and fraud after the landlord repudiated a ten-year lease.

Mr. Orth sat on the Florida Bar Committee regarding its relations with the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Dade County Bar Association’s Arbitration Panel for attorney-client fee disputes.  He also made a television appearance on the Montel Williams Show on the topic of malpractice and bankruptcy.
